The Pottstown School Board will interview candidates to fill the vacant broad seat created by the resignation of Emanuel Wilkerson. Interviews will be held at a public meeting on Thursday Oct.25 at 7 PM in the school district administration building. The two applicants are Thomas Hylton and William Barnhill. Hylton is a former board member who served two terms, ran unsuccessfully for a third and applied but was not chosen to fill a vacancy when in April Ron Williams resigned. Barnhill also ran unsuccessfully for an open board seat last year. His wife, Bonita Barnhill, did secure a seat on the board in that same election. The person chosen will serve until December 2019, and must then run for a full four-year term if he wishes to remain on the school board. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
