PSD Promotes Outreach Teams as a Community Engagement Process
Please contact the Outreach Team administrator if you have a comment, idea, or network opportunity that could enhance any of these developing partnerships. Purpose: Partnerships create engagement, loyalty/support for education and for specific schools and programs. Partnerships provide additional services for schools and students. Outreach Teams 1. Literacy: Jeff Sparagana, Lisa Schiavone, Lori Hoch 2. The Arts: Taffy Wolfe/Linda Adams 3. STEM: Danielle McCoy/Laurie Kolka 4. Character Ed/ Civic Engagement: Bob Stevens/Rita Cohen 5. Athletics: Pat Connors, John Armato 6. Finance/Budget/Grants/Resources: Terri Lampe/Linda Adams/John Armato 7. Entrepreneurship: Reed Lindley, Danielle McCoy, David Todd, John Armato 8. Family Support: Holly Lee; Lorraine Donnelly Superintendent’s Role: · Keep Board informed of progress and staff utilization; · Meet regularly with administrative contact (possibly the Core Group of each team); review progress toward action steps; assist in making connections between teams and District projects/goals. · Connect Outreach activities to Development Office · (Data base of partners, contributions, etc.) Outreach Contact/administrative role and process: 1. Administrators meet with Supt. to clarify mission, vision, initial goals 2. Administrators develop a core district team (1-3 people), from professional or support staff interested in this type of outreach. 3. District Team members meet to clarify mission/vision/initial goals 4. Individual teams develop a strategy to recruit community meeting of potential partners. 5. District team meets with group of community members/potential partners, solidify core membership of this Outreach Team. 6. Core team continually seeks to expand connections to benefit (find opportunities to include any interested party. 7. Core team connects monthly with action plan update. 8. Core team collaborates with principals, supervisors as needed to ensure open dialogue and systemic integration.
