Seth Ecker is a member of the wrestling team at Ithaca College and the defending national champion in the 133 pound weight class. He recently won the 28th Annual Ithaca Invitational Tournament and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler. During the tournament he defeated five opponents and subsequently was named the Eric Collegiate Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week. He was also named to the dean’s list at Ithaca College. Trenton Davidheiser was recently inducted into the Sigma Zeta Honor Society at Chestnut Hill College. Danielle Fiorillo, Class of 1998, is a floral designer. Ron Puhl who helped the Trojans to a Ches-Mont League Championship in both football and track in the late 50’s was recently inducted into the Lockhaven University Football Hall of Fame. Puhl was an All-PSAC and All-American running back for the Eagles in 1960. He taught at Bloomsburg University from 1966 to 2005 and coached both football and cross country teams there before retiring. Michael Tucker is attending Dickinson College and was named Captain of the football team. Will Carter is a member of the Delaware Valley College football team and is an offensive tackle. Nick Maloney is an offensive lineman for the Kutztown University football team. Jeff Endy is a defensive back for the Ursinus College football team. Danielle Remigio, Class of 2007, recently graduated from the University of Hawaii where she received The Center of Microbial Oceanography Research and Education Scholarship. She performed research at the Kewalo Marine Laboratory and volunteered in the shark laboratory at the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology. Dereck Beecher, Class of 2008, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lake, Illinois. Michael Williams, Class of 2007, is attending Gwynedd-Mercy College and is a member of the men’s basketball team. Victoria McShea, Class of 2007, graduated cum laude from Albright College in May 2011. Her degree is in Fashion Merchandising and she made the Dean's list 2nd semester. She is now working at New Holland Apparel in Product Development. Alumni News-Spring 2011 Kierstyn Mock is a member of the Kutztown University Women’s Lacrosse Team. Malorie Sassaman is a freshman at Franklin and Marshall College and a member of their Women’s Softball Team. She has successfully had a hit in all 16 games she has started this season. She was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week. Malorie was a unanimous selection to the Centennial Conference First Team Softball Team. She was second in the league with a batting average of .438. Ryan Edleman is a junior majoring in exercise science at West Chester University. He was recently named to the dean’s list. Jessica Brogley, Class of 2007, recently graduated from Albright College. Jessica accepted her degree early in the field of Accounting and Business Administration with a focus in marketing. Post-graduation, she accepted a position with Penske Truck Leasing in Reading, PA as a Staff Accountant. Currently she is studying to become a Certified Public Accountant and planning a 2012 wedding with fiancé Mark Stahl, a 2009 Albright College graduate. Wayne Deegan, Jr. competed in the Master’s Division (age 50 and above) at the Garden Spot Marathon. He completed the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours, 21 minutes, and 33 seconds. Antonio Rivera, Class of 2002, is a staff sergeant in the Army National Guard. He recently returned after deployment to Iraq serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He is a combat engineer with ten years of military service and is regularly assigned to the 228th Engineer Company based out of Spring City. Monique DeGraffenreid is a senior at Eastern Carolina University majoring in exercise science. Shanna Tucker is the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Assistant Director of Intramurals at Kings College. Natalee Sassaman, a junior at the University of Rochester, is a member of the women’s softball team and was named to the First Team All Liberty League after hitting .370 in 30 games. She had five doubles, two homeruns, and drove in 16 runs for a .521 slugging percentage. Michael Tucker, a junior at Dickinson College, placed second in the shot-put at the Conference Championships helping to lead his team to the Centennial League Conference Title. Elmer “Chump” Pollock, Class of 1938, was recognized by the Community Connection in their Pottstown Pride feature for his dedication and service to the school district, community, and region in promoting the traditions and values of athletics. One of his accomplishments in his sixty years of service was the establishments of the Tri County Sports Hall of Fame, which annually recognizes individuals who have not only achieved athletically but have served as role models for our youth. Katie Hipple, Class of 2010, was named to the dean’s list at Penn State University Hazelton Campus where she is a freshman majoring in accounting. Kierstin Levan was inducted into Phi Alpha Epsilon Academic and Service Honor Society at Lebanon Valley College. Barry Beasley recently graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Kerri Cruz was recently named to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She is attending Montgomery County Community College. Siobhan Clinger is a recent graduate of Albright College with a Bachelor of Science degree in crime and justice. She is currently enrolled in graduate classes at St. Joseph’s University. Seth Pihanich was recently named to the dean’s list at Edinboro University. William Wolf was recently named to the dean’s list at Edinboro University. Brandon Hall was named to the merit list at Emory University. He has been accepted into the Bonner Leaders Program which focuses on providing community service while improving collaborative efforts between the college and surrounding communities. Emilee Joy Sassaman recently graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary and early childhood education. Jessica Brogley was named as a member of the Housing and Residential Learning staff at Albright College. Seth Ecker is a junior at Itchaca College and a member of their wrestling team. He recently won the NCAA Division III National Championship in the 133 pound weight class. He was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the ECWC Championships after upsetting the top seed (who he also beat in the NCAA final) in the title bout. Ecker was also named Most Outstanding Wrestler at York's New Standard Corporation Invitational and earned all-state honors with a third-plce showing at the state meet. A two-time ECWC Wrestler of the Week, he posted a 33-4 record (14‑2 in duals) with 10 pins, five major decisions and a team-leading five technical falls. He'll enter his senior season with a 79-16 career record. He's a repeat selection to the NWCA's Scholar All-America Team and was named to the ECWC All-Academic Team. Jihad Johnson is a student at Stevens Tech and a member of the wrestling team. His record at the end of December was four wins and two losses. Richard Favinger, Class of 1999, recently became engaged to Christiana “Kit” McElwee, Methacton High School Class of 1998. Rich is a professional photographer, judo instructor, and scuba diver. He excels in all these areas while at the same time being legally blind. Christiana, who also has a rare medical condition, has been featured on NBC Channel 10 “The Good News” segment. Brandon Hall, Class of 2010, was placed on the merit list at Emory University's Oxford campus in Georgia where he is majoring in psychology. Hall completed 24 credits in his first semester as a freshman and has been accepted into the Bonner Leaders Program which focuses on providing community service while improving collaborative efforts between the college and the surrounding community. At age 17, his interest in town beautification led him to be the youngest person named to the board of Preservation Pottstown, a position he has maintained. Kierstin Levan is a senior at Lebanon Valley College majoring in music and music education. Recently she presented a musical recital at the Zimmerman Recital Hall of the Susan H. Arnold Art Gallery. Michael Tucker is attending Dickinson College and is a member of the men’s track team. He recently competed in the Bucknell University Open and placed sixth in the shot-put event. His performance was the best of any Division III athlete in the event. Trenton Davidheiser is a senior at Chestnut Hill College and a member of the men’s basketball team. Recently, he was recognized by the Philadelphia Area Small Colleges and Coaches Association by being named the Sam Cozen Player of the Week. Sean Valentine, Class of 2008, is a junior at Howard University and was recently accepted for the second semester at E.M. Strasbourg Business School, University of Strasbourg France. Gabrielle Schmanek, Class of 2010, is currently a student at Drexel University. Marcella Slick was recently named to the dean’s list at Gettysburg College. David Donald is the CEO of Pottstown based PeopleShare which provides temporary and permanent staffing services to the region. PeopleShare was founded in 2005 and now has seven offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia. The Pottstown office is the second largest employer in the Borough of Pottstown. Recently, Mr. Donald was asked to represent businesses in the Philadelphia region to participate in a roundtable discussion with U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis. Jenna Armato was recently named to the position of President-Elect in the Philadelphia American Marketing Association. This past year she played an important role on the association’s Communications Committee. She is presently the Marketing Director for a Royersford based corporation. Daniel Yauger, Class of 2010, is a Navy seaman apprentice and recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes Illinois. Melissa A. Fisher Trois graduated from Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem with a Masters of Divinity degree. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Mansfield University. Lea Scott, a 2001 graduate of Pottstown High School where she ran cross country and was a member of the National Honor Society, finished second in her age group and 27th overall during the recent DiamondGirl Pennsylvania Sprint Triathlon at Lake Nockamixon State Park. A year ago, Scott made her debut in the event and was an admirable 26th overall, but that was in a field of only 139 competitors. This time around, though, with the field nearly doubled (248), Scott endured the swimming, biking and running test to finish as the runner-up in her age group and 27th overall. Scott clocked in with a 10:42 in the quarter-mile swim, a 34:30 in the 10-mile bike race, and an impressive 14:55 in the two-mile run. Her overall time was 1:02.33, second only to Hughesville's Amy Bower in the 25-29 Age Division. The 28-year-old Scott graduated cum laude from Millersville University and has been teaching secondary English at The Center for Arts and Technology's Pickering Campus the past six years. She trains six days a week despite working as a teacher and studying for her master’s degree at West Chester University. She has competed in three marathons - her second in Dublin, Ireland - and several half-marathons. The daughter of Jim and Linda Drumheller, who still reside in Pottstown, Scott has also participated in the Broad Street Run in Philadelphia the last seven years. She plans to enter two other triathlons this summer and aspires to compete in a grueling half-ironman in the near future. Jessica Lightcap, Class of 2000, is a 2004 graduate of Bloomsburg University with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science and a 2006 graduate of Harcum College with a physical therapist assistant’s degree. Marcella Slick was recently named to the dean’s list at Gettysburg College. Raphael Hueber, Class of 2008, is a recent graduate of Holy Family University with an associate’s degree in radiologic science. David Marcheskie recently became the dayside news reporter for ABC-WHTM Channel 27 in Harrisburg. He will be the on camera reporter covering news in Lebanon County. Rebecca (Pace) Feraker, Class of 1991, is a recent graduate of University of Phoenix with an Associate of Arts in Health Care Administration degree. She is a 2000 graduate of Antonelli Medical and Professional Institute with a Medical Office Secretary Diploma. Rebecca has been accepted at University of Phoenix where she will work towards a bachelor’s degree in health care management. She and her husband Robert currently own A.B.B. Towing in Pottstown. Mark Pennypacker, Class of 1978, recently earned his third master’s degree; the most recent one from Mississippi State is in Geosciences. This fall he will begin teaching at a local community college as an adjunct. During the summer, he was asked to participate in a teacher training program at the NASA Center. Joseph Sirgenson recently received an associate’s degree in culinary arts from the Culinary Institute of America. Ashley Stingel graduated from Skidmore College with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry. She was a porter scholar and recipient of the Charlotte W. Fahey Prize. She was a member of Periclean, a college honor society, and a member of the school’s Honors Forum. Nora Buck was recently named to the dean’s list at Widener University. Jacob Slick, Class of 2010, is attending Hamilton College and is a member of the varsity football team. Steve Verbit is the defensive coordinator for the varsity football team at Princeton University. Regina Oliver was inducted into the Ohio State University Athletic Hall of Fame. She was a two-time All-American and holds numerous records for the Ohio State University women’s lacrosse team. Regina was most recently a member of the United States National Women’s Lacrosse Team helping them to the 2009 World Cup Championships and earning All-World Team Honors. Presently, she is the assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Duquesne University. Dennis Bakay, Class of 1996, is a 2001 graduate of Temple University. Bobby Shantz was recognized by the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame by being named one of the recipients of the Lighthouse Boys Club Lifetime Commitment Award. Bobby is a legendary figure in professional baseball and was honored by having the Pottstown High School varsity baseball field named in recognition of his achievements. He recently received two design awards from the Building and Industries Exchange for his design of facilities for the Creative Health Services Inc. and the Community Health and Christine Bradley is a junior member of the East Stroudsburg University Women's Lacrosse Team and was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week after posting nine goals and seven assists in three wins. Bradley helped the Warriors improve to 6-1 for the fourth time in school history as they recorded a pair of PSAC East wins, 20-7 over Kutztown and 16-9 at Millersville. Bradley tied her career-high with seven points at Kutztown, with three goals and four assists. She had two goals and an assist at Millersville and recorded four goals and two assists against Slippery Rock. Bradley has been named to the All-PSAC team in each of her first two years and leads the Warriors with 26 points this season, with 13 goals and a team-high 13 assists. She has 61 career goals and 40 assists, the latter ranking sixth in ESU’s record book. An all-around midfielder, Bradley also paces the team with 26 ground balls, is tied for the team lead with 12 caused turnovers and is second with 13 draw controls. Nicholas Harman is an employee at Yellowbook Publications. He was recently promoted to Data Governess Analyst II. He has been an employee of Yellowbook for seven years. He will provide specialized business and technical expertise to develop requirements associated with systems proposed or in use in listing departments. Included in his responsibilities are ensuring that the market database can warehouse and deliver accurate data. Seth Ecker was recently named Division III Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. This year he had a record of 22-4 for Dan Hampton, Class of 1980, was recently promoted to the rank of colonel in the United States Army. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant after his graduation from David Donald, Class of 1981, is the President and CEO of PeopleShare. His company was recently recognized as one of the top 500 fastest growing privately held companies in the nation. In 2009, PeopleShare was recognized as one of the "best places to work." Recently, Mr. Donald was named by Philadelphia Mayor Nutter to the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board. He also serves as a Special Olympics counselor. Valerie DeBoer, Class of 2005, attended Heather M. Thiret, Class of 1993, is a captain in the Army National Guard. She has recently returned from deployment overseas at a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is an intelligence officer in the 56th Striker Brigade Combat Team and has served in the military for seventeen years. She received a bachelor’s degree in 2000 from Jonathan Rozecki, Class of 2008, recently graduated from basic infantry training at Al Ray Johnson was recently inducted into the PIAA District I Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Johnson had an outstanding career as both an athlete and a coach. Presenting him with his award was Lee E. He holds a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Nicholas Fisher was recently named to the dean's list at Lisa Ann Baglivio, Class of 1979, is a project administrator for the Vanguard Investment Group. Lisa has also been instrumental in her leadership of the Days of Caring Events, which have brought hundreds of hours of volunteer time to the Kathryn Boyer Minotto, Class of 1975, has been elected to AFSCME President for the employees of the Borough of Pottstown. She has been employed by the borough for the past 28 1/2 years. Marcella Slick was recently named to the dean's list at Amy Myers and Sharae Dockery participated in the Philadelphia Breast Cancer Three Day 60 mile walk to benefit the Susan G. Komen For the Cure research. Miss Dockery is a cancer survivor who is confined to a wheelchair. She and Miss Myers spent the summer training in preparation for their 60 mile adventure. Mark Pennypacker, Class of 1978, is a special education and science teacher at James Wood High School in Virginia. He was the longtime girls' soccer coach for the school and recently took a club team to Brazil. Shaun Bentz, Class of 2003, is employed as a civil engineer at Bursich Associates in Pottstown. He recently spoke to Pottstown High School sophomores as part of the National Engineers Week Program. Aiesha Harper is a member of the women's basketball team at Elon University. Andrew Long is a graduate of Alvernia University and recently signed a contract to play professional baseball in the Continental Baseball League. He will be assigned to a team in Dallas, Texas. Jenna Eckert is a certified pharmacy technician at the Phoenixville Hospital. David Charles is a professional singer who recently collaborated on a song titled "Solidarity." The song was inspired by the Barack Obama election campaign. Scott Detar is a senior partner in the accounting firm of Maillie Falconiero and was recently named to the position of Managing Partner. Scott is a 1977 graduate of Lehigh University. He is the head of Maillie Falconiero's Government and Non-Profit Services Department which provides accounting services to more than 150 municipal and governmental agencies throughout the area. He is also a member of the Board of Director of the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation and is a former chairman of the Tri County Area Chamber of Commerce. He has served as past treasurer for the Pottstown Area YMCA and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and Government Financial Officers Association. Elizabeth Pomidor is a graduate of Chestnut Hill College with a Bachelor of Science degree in social services and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree. Mike Yannessa is the owner of Wheels in Motion, a car repair and restoration business in Pottstown. Darnell Wallace, Class of 1994, is presently the fitness director of the YMCA in Mont Clare, New Jersey. He graduated from Temple University in 2004 with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. Rian "Goo" Wallace, Class of 2001, was a member of the NFL Washington Redskins' football team during the 2008 season. He previously earned a Superbowl ring with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004. He is currently attending classes at Temple University and is the executive officer and chairman of the non-profit youth group "Goals Over Obstacles," which provides free football camps for young people. Raymond Quill, a freshman at Cowley College, recently broke the school track record in the high jump event. His jump of 6 feet, 6 inches during the invitational indoor meet broke the existing school record previously set in 2005. Seth Ecker is a freshman at Ithaca College. He recently placed first in the 125 pound weight class in the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships. His championship victory was over an undefeated opponent. Ecker helped to lead his team to the conference championship and to the second most winning dual meet season in the history of the program. Ithaca College is presently ranked in the top ten NCAA Division III rankings. He earned All-American Honors by placing 6th at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships. Ecker was also named ECWC Rookie of the Year. Dave Ricketts - The spring training indoor batting cages where the late Dave Ricketts spent countless hours tutoring St. Louis Cardinals prospects now bears his name. The team held a dedication ceremony Saturday to honor Ricketts, a reserve catcher on the 1967 St. Louis World Series title team. He is best remembered by the franchise as the coach who helped develop Gold Glove catchers Tom Pagnozzi, Mike Matheny and Yadier Molina during a 35-year behind-the-scenes career. A plaque attached to a pillar outside the cages reads in part, "Dave Ricketts' passion for the great game of baseball and for the men he taught will never be forgotten." At the bottom of the plaque is a silhouette of a catcher. Ricketts died last July at age 73. Asia Carraby, a 2002 Pottstown High School graduate, was recently selected as the Johnson & Johnson, PriCara Unit of Ortho-McNeil, District Representative of the Year for 2008. The company also announced Carraby's promotion to professional sales representative for the Bryn Mawr Territory in the Philadelphia district of the Primary Care Force, East Region. Carraby has been working for the company since July 2006 and received North East Area Rookie of the Year for 2007. She is a graduate of Villanova University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.

Troy Nixon, Class of 1979, is a 1997 Graduate of Lincoln University with at Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He is also a filmmaker with his own production company, TazzNix. Recently, his company’s feature film “Bittersweet” received a 2008 Telly Award. Telly Awards are the premier awards honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, film and video productions. Mr. Nixon’s entry was one of over 13,500 from all 50 states and around the world. His productions provide opportunity for local aspiring actors and actresses. Mr. Nixon’s first production was filmed at Pottstown High School.
Shannon Witzel, Class of 2003, is a graduate of Towson University. She was recently named as a full-time assistant coach for the LaSalle University women's lacrosse team. While at Towson, she was named to the first team Colonial Athletic Association Lacrosse Team. She scored 208 career goals which was tie for first place in Towson lacrosse history.
Anthony Smith is a member of the Bloomsburg University Football Team. He is a starting linebacker and assisted in the Huskies’ open season 49-42 victory over Ashland.
Shane Magargal is a senior at Westminster Choir College majoring in vocal performance and minoring in musical theater. This past summer (2008) he performed with the Ohio Light Opera Company, a professional summer theater group. He plans to attend graduate school to earn a master’s in vocal performance and was recently named recipient of the Andrew J. Rider Scholarship which recognizes the top students at the university.

Mrs. Peters' work experiences include United States Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories, educational video writer and producer, graduate research assistant at the Education Research Methods and Design Based Research at George Mason University, adjunct instructor at George Mason University and the University of Virginia. During the 2006-2007 school year she was an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Exploration Systems Mission in Washington, D.C. Presently, she is an assistant professor of education at George Mason University.
B.J. Ellis, Class of 1999, is the executive director and performer for the improvisational comedy group known as The N Crowd. Recently, they were named by Fox 29 News as Philadelphia's top comedy group. In 2006, they were also named first runner-up in the Philly Style Magazine's Best of Philly's Comedy Troops. B.J. is also a substitute teacher in the Pottstown School District.
Elizabeth Weekley is a junior at Millersville University majoring in public relations. She is also a member of the women's lacrosse team and this past season broke a 19 year-old Millersville record by leading the her team in season goals with 68.
Jessica Lightcap, Class of 2000, is a 2004 graduate of Bloomsburg University. She recently competed in the Steamton Marathon and covered the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours, 40 minutes, and 58 seconds. This is her personal best time and has qualified her to participate in the Boston Marathon.
Jessica Moyer, Class of 2005, is a political science major at Kutztown University. She was provided an internship by the Washington Center for internships and academic seminars which allowed her to serve as a news observer at the Democratic Convention held in Denver, Colorado. Upon graduation from Kutztown, she intends to pursue studies for a law degree.
Pottstown High School Culinary Arts graduates Joseph Sirgenson and Patric Kelley are current students at Montgomery County Community College Culinary Arts Program. They recently took part as judges in the fifth annual Carousel of Flavors Restaurant Festival.
Michael Beury, Class of 2006, is presently attending Penn State University where he is a triple major in mathematics, physics, and astrophysics. He is active in a school program working on a project with NASA to launch a satellite that NASA will use to study gamma-ray bursts.

Seth Ecker, Class of 2008, is a freshman at Ithaca College. As a member of the wrestling team, he was recently named as the NCAA Division III Wrestler of the Week for his championship performance at the Ithaca Invitational Tournament. Wrestling in the 125 pound weight class, he took first place with five consecutive victories. His efforts also earned him the outstanding wrestler of the tournament award and he was also named the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week.

Alumni News - Spring 2008 Christine Bradley is a freshmen member of the East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse team. She was recently named to the Second Team Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Team.
Elizabeth Weekly is a sophomore at Millersville University and was recently named Second Team All American by the International Women's Lacrosse Coaches of America. Weekly set a school record this season by scoring 68 goals. She had previously been named to the First Team for the Southern Region and was a First Team All PSAC selection.
Terrence Shawell, a senior at Alvernia College, was named to the Division III All American Team. As a senior, he led his team to the conference finals and was also named Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He averaged 20 points per game and he is the first player from Alvernia College to be named to the All American list.
Andrew Long is a senior member of the Alvernia College baseball team. Recently he helped lead the team to the ECAC Southern Regional Championship. He was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation will rename its New Jersey headquarters in memory of Mr. Barry Lee Bush who was a FBI agent who died in the line of duty. Mr. Bush was shot and killed outside of a bank in New Jersey while taking part in the apprehension of bank robbery suspects.
Tammy Mullen is a freshman attending Becker College and is a member of the women's lacrosse team. She was recently named Rookie of the Week as she helped lead her team in picking up their first ever NCAA Division III win in a 14-13 decision over Thomas College.
Justin Gibbs is a member of the Kutztown University men's track team and recently participated in the Penn Relays as a member of the 4x400 meter hurdle relay team. Justin will be a June graduate.

Matt Cubbler recently ran 78 miles across the state of New Jersey as part of a scholarship fundraising project to honor his deceased brother. Cubbler also self-published a book about the life of his brother who experienced learning disabilities. Proceeds from “A Brother’s Love: A Memoir” have been used to benefit scholarships for local students with learning disabilities. Vincent Jenkins, Class of 1967, was recently named Mansfield University Employee of the Year. Jenkins is an Associate Professor of Academic and Human Development, Director of Academic Advising, and Director of the SUPPORT Program at Mansfield University. The employee recognition committee selected Jenkins, a 1976 Mansfield graduate, after a campus-wide nomination process. Among the comments made on the nomination, Jenkins received were: "Very dedicated, caring and knowledgeable."

Richard Weikel (deceased), Class of 1943, was a graduate of Wharton School of Business, earning a masters of arts degree. He later attended Lehigh University and received an honorary doctorate. He was the Vice-President and Treasurer of Philadelphia University and also served as the Dean of Students for the Perkiomen School. A World War II veteran, he also served in the United States Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Adrian Baylor was selected to be part of the housing and residential learning staff at Albright College. He is a senior majoring in chemistry and secondary education.

This list includes both men's and women's teams. Regina was one of only two women recognized as one of the top ten lacrosse players in the United States of America in the past ten years.

She has worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative in the company’s Philadelphia and Columbia, Md., districts. A 2006 graduate of Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, the scholarship student is featured in the undergraduate business school brochure. Carraby was the first Rotary Club exchange student from Pottstown. She resides in Royersford.
Carl Landis recently had a record-breaking performance at the Mid-Atlantic United States Track and Field Open and Masters Indoor Championships. His time for the one mile run was 6 minutes and 8 seconds, which bested the American Standard of 6 minutes and 15 seconds for the 65 to 69 age group. He also improved the American Standard in the half mile with a time of 2 minutes and 44 seconds.
Dana Cardona is a recent graduate of Montgomery County Community College and will be attending Bucknell University. Her long-term goal is to become a speech/language pathologist.

Rosemary Hartman, Class of 1935, (deceased) received her BS and Masters of Education degree from West Chester University. She was an educator for 60 years serving as a teacher at Wyndcroft School, Pottstown School District, and Cape May, New Jersey. She retired in 1998 at the age of 80. She received recognition from both the President of the United States and the Secretary of Education for her dedication to the field of education.
Regina Oliver, a 2005 graduate of Ohio State University, was selected by U.S. Lacrosse to be a member of National Touring Team that will represent the United States in the Prague Cup held in the Czech Republic. Dr. Carl Delacato, Class of 1941 (deceased) was a graduate of West ChesterStateTeachers College and received both a masters degree in psychology and a doctorate in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
During the 1950’s and 1960’s, he was a teacher and administer at ChestnutHillAcademy. He co-founded the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential and developed techniques for treating learning disabilities and brain injuries. He traveled worldwide to treat learning disabled and brain injured children. His books on learning disabilities and autism have been published in 13 languages. His 1974 book, The Ultimate Stranger: The Autistic Child, challenged the then prevalent theory that autism was a mental illness.

David Marcheskie is a senior at UrsinusUniversity. He was one of the students in a four member team that produced a documentary video entitled "Crystal Clear," which received first place in a Philadelphia Documentary Film Competition. The competition was sponsored by the FieldCenter for Children's Policy Practice and Research at the University of Pennsylvania. The competition honors young filmmakers who use film to convey the significance of child abuse and neglect.
Rian Wallace, a member of the Superbowl Champions Pittsburgh Steelers football team, returned home to conduct a free football clinic for over 150 Pottstown students grades 6-12. Joining him as coaches that day were a number of former PottstownHigh School football players who along with Mr. Wallace took an opportunity to share their skills and, more importantly, import important messages about education and attitude to Pottstown youngsters.

Shannon Witzel is a senior at TowsonUniversity. As member of the women’s lacrosse team, she was chosen to play in the 2007 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I All-Star game. During her career she finished with 208 goals, which ties her for the school record. She is a three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection and is one of only 32 players in the NCAA Division I history to score over 200 career goals.

Jamell Beasley is a junior member of the women’s basketball team at David Schaeffer, Class of 2006, recently graduated from basic combat training at Ft. David Amadu, Class of 2000, is a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army and was recently decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for supporting the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The medal is awarded to individuals who while serving in any capacity with the Army have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service. Amadu is an equipment readiness officer with two years of military service. He is also a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Darlene Newman, the girls’ basketball coach at Chonn Lacey recently signed a contract to play in the National Football League with the Seattle Seahawks. He has been allocated to the Hamburg Sea Devils members of the NFL European league. Last year, Chonn was a member of the world championship Amsterdam Admirals who play in the NFL European league. The awards were in recognition of the heroism they exhibited in rescuing people from a burning home last year. The citation recognized that their actions were taken in "with disregard for their own safety." While in school, Kron became a state champion in the 400 meter track event and helped lead the boys’ track team to Pioneer Conference and District I championships. Mr. Scott Glenn, Class of 1984, was recently honored by the Ricketts Community Center by being named to its Wall of Outstanding Individuals. In high school, he helped lead the football team and basketball team to league championships. While attending West Virginia Tech, Scott was named as a football All-American and holds the all-time leading rusher record for that school. He served as a United States marine and was meritoriously promoted twice to corporal and sergeant. As head football coach of the Unionville High School football team, Scott guided them to their best record in many years. He is presently the assistant defensive coordinator at Albright College . He went on to an outstanding athletic career at Kutztown University and distinguished himself as a tennis coach for the Spring-Ford School District . Stephanie “Peachie” Nixon was a four sport varsity letter winner in high school and earned all league recognition in each sport. She was the Trojans’ first 1,000 point scorer in basketball and distinguished herself as an outstanding student and athlete at Millersville University . Fred Faison, at the age of 53, continues an outstanding career in baseball. His 35 year career started as a catcher for the Trojans and Steelers American Legion Team. He went on to play in the Blue Mountain League. For the past 27 years, he has been an integral part of the Collegeville A’s team, which participates in the Perky Twilight League. He quarterbacked the Penn State football team to an undefeated season and was voted MVP of the Orange Bowl during his junior year. Mr. William McCabe, a former social studies teacher in the Pottstown School District for 41 years, was recognized by the Pennsylvania Municipal Authority with the J.E. (Ted Kuhn) 50 year extended service award recognizing his 51 years of service on the Pottstown Water and Sewer Authority. Mr. McCabe is credited with drawing up what is believed to be the Borough of Pottstown's first budget as well as being involved with bringing the first borough manager to Pottstown .
