                Hello!  Although I am NOT a NEW teacher, I have taken on a very exciting NEW ROLE here at Pottstown Middle School.  I am now part of the MTSS Intervention Team!  MTSS stands for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.  Through this role, I have the distinct pleasure of working with 5th and 6th grade CORE students. 

History of my Educational career:

  • Graduated from Kutztown University in December of 2003 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education.
  • Earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy at Walden University in 2010.

 

Teaching career:

  • Taught Kindergarten at Rupert Elementary for the 2004-2005 school year.
  • From 2005-2007, I was a 4th grade teacher at Rupert Elementary. 
  • For the past 8 years, I taught 6th grade ELA and S.S.
  • 2015- MTSS Reading Intervention Specialist
  •  

    In my class, the focus is on:

    *Morphology- the study of the basic building blocks of meaning in language.

    o   These building blocks, called morphemes, are the smallest units of form that bear meaning or have a grammatical function.

    *Vocabulary

    *The History of our English word

         *Text Dependent Analysis
